Sustainable Development: Why biodegradable plastic is not sustainable?

Degradable and biodegradable plastics have become a buzzword in the eighties and have become part of the politics in the early nineties and actual legislation in the late nineties.

They told us biodegradability is a property of a substance or object capable of being decomposed by bacteria or other living organisms and thereby avoiding pollution.
